Foundations Discussion Questions

January 7, 2023 - The Mission

  1. We are turning 27 and love seeing everything God has done through Cascade Community Church. Take some time to talk through the heart of taking the gospel here, near, and far and the many ways Cascade has been used to spread the gospel.

  2. Why should making disciples be the source of further community outreach, church planting, missions efforts, and healthy church leadership?

  3. When you study Jesus’ life chronologically you can find four intentional challenges that Jesus used to grow the disciples. Talk about the value of studying Jesus’ relationship especially in context to our definition of a Disciple.

Chair 1: Jesus created a safe relational space to invest into these disciples. Jesus wanted to help them “come and see” who He was and why they needed Him. Why is it important to give people a space to connect relationally, talk through needs and questions, present the gospel, and help someone enter into a relationship with God?

Chair 2: The Disciples pursued Jesus passionately over the next 18 months as they walked all over the region together. As they walked and sat and talked Jesus began reshaping their hearts. What were the four areas of early disciple making that Michael talked about and how does a relationship with a “discipler” help you grow in these areas?

Chair 3: Jesus pushed the eject button to make the disciples fishers of men. What does it mean to change your priorities and begin living your faith out? How do you grow by stepping into a gospel purpose and actively serving in your faith?

Chair 4: Jesus called us to “bear much fruit” and to make disciples. We believe someone is most like Jesus when they lay their livers down to invest in a disciple making relationship. How does making a disciple represent maturity and spiritual growth?
